a club called rhonda los angeles

Club Rhonda is a dance party like no other in Los Angeles and potentially the world. Rhonda is a fictitious dance diva who is always jetsetting across the globe in search of the hottest DJs for her parties. Conceived as “an international mecca for hedonism in all the right ways,” according to co-founder Gregory Alexander A Club Called Rhonda hosts out of this world dance parties at a variety of venues throughout the Los Angeles area.

Locals or visitors who wish to attend one of Rhonda’s outrageous dance parties, filled with house and disco music and an array of interesting people, should check out their Web site to find out when and where the next A Club Called Rhonda party is being held. Rhonda is the brainchild of four native Angelenos who wanted to create the ultimate dance party. After brainstorming, researching and, of course, some heavy partying, Rhonda and her dance party were born.

In only four short years, A Club Called Rhonda has become synonymous with house music in the Los Angeles area and has featured live soundtracks from some of the best names in house music as well as some of the most talented DJs to spin house and disco music. Be prepared for a party of epic proportions if you’re planning a visit to one of Rhonda’s parties. To minimize wait time, RSVP for the party at rhondasays.net. Yelp gave A Club Called Rhonda four stars.

la cita LA

Some only go there because of the fantastic Bandera shots or just like to have  a good time.  But after all it is a place to dance out. You will find always a mixed crowd, a decent sized dance floor and a patio for quiet talks. Sundays is for reggae lovers;  Monday is the Mustache night, Thursdays “Dance right” with a variety of DJ’s and music.

It is not a “dark Mexican Ranchero bar, no. It’s more hipster with its eclectic tunes and multiple spots to hang out.

Yelp says: 3.5 stars

room 5 LA

ROOM 5 Lounge in Hollywood, close to Hancock park, is the venue for an eclectic mix of new music from hot area artists and cutting edge comedy together in an upscale, intimate atmosphere. In 1937 at the famous former “Swanee”, club owner Bob Lewis suggested that budding Jazz musician Nathaniel “Nat” Cole assemble a small band to work at his Swanee Inn. It is a cozy and quite small lounge, just right to listen to some good music. Open mic night supposed to be no entry fee, but you have insist on it.
The sequence could be: First dine downstairs at the Italian Amalfi Ristorante, then enjoy artists and bands in the genres of jazz, soul, singer/songwriter, country, comedy, pop and r&b upstairs at the Room 5. Yelp says they deserve four stars!

JLounge LA
JLounge LAJ Lounge lies in The Heart Of Downtown L.A. and is a newly remodeled Lounge with over 3 million in elegance and decor. It is a 25,000 SF venue, has 2 floors, 3 bars, an open air smoking lounge, a 10,000 SF patio and everything you need to enjoy live-music and DJs.
This venue has a pretty chill atmosphere. Once you walk up the stairs, you see a decent size bar where they serve drinks around ten dollars the drink. The patio with fire pit, VIP cabanas and of course the LA skyline view is something special indeed.
The restaurant with creations from Chef Ryan McKay’s (ex-L’Orangerie) features traditional American comfort food, such as fried crab cakes, ahi tartare, grilled rib-eye steak, fish of the day and braised short ribs.

The Yelp crowd gives three stars.

the dragonfly

the dragonfly

The Dragonfly is a versatile Nightclub and not boring. Some nights are reggae, other nights rock; alternative and hard rock bands are touring, mixed with regular theme club nights in the spacious venue in the middle of Theater Row. And of course DJ’s play spin funk, hip-hop, house and soul. There is always something buzzing.

Though it is a minimally designed club, the brick-walled back patio is one of the prettiest spots in town to enjoy legal vices. Celebrities sightings?

Every Friday, the Dragonfly Bar transforms into Miss Kitty’s Parlor. Miss Kitty’s is one of the funnest and most outrageous club nights in town as every Friday night boasts a different erotic theme and guests are encouraged to come dressed in costume. There are different burlesque type shows, a spanking parlor, fetish parlor, and various contests for drinks and prizes. Not to mention that Miss Kitty is an amazing mc and really gets the crowd going. The energy at these parties is amazing as everyone just gets into it and has a lot of fun! You can just let yourself go and get into the different themes.
The crowd thinks it is worth four stars. Pretty good!
