The Dresden in artsy Los Feliz

The Dresden located in the heart of hipster Los Feliz provides Continental and American cuisine from French Onion Soup to Lake Superior Whitefish and Chicken Cordon Bleu to Peach Melba. Aside dining you can listen to live music seven nights a week. The Dresden house band, the jazz musicians Marty and Elayne, are performing every Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 PM – 1:15 AM in the Dresden Room’s lounge.

Marty and Elayne have been a big part of the Dresden Room’s success over many years and continue to dazzle audiences with their tremendous enthusiasm, show biz finesse, and endearing musical vigor.  The duo became inexorably associated with the Dresden Restaurant in 1982 after Dresden owner Carl Ferraro discovered them at the former Michael’s around the block. With a sometimes staccato-Sinatra voice, Marty drives his drum kit or upright bass while Elayne swings it with piano, synth, and/or flute if not scatting in a falsetto. It is sheer tight talent – nothing like you’ll see in their almost satirical appearance in the feature film Swingers.  We are lucky to have this dynamic musical duo five nights a week – along with all the talented guest musicians/singers that accompany Marty and Elayne in the Dresden lounge.

FYI – every Tuesday night Marty and Elayne host open mic night in the Dresden Room lounge.  Bring your best voice along with your music charts, or, choose a standard and roll with it.
