The Echo

The Echo was located in a former Latin disco, so the sticky vinyl booths and mirrored walls may resemble the interior of a seedy strip club, but this place is about fresh sounds, not fancy digs. Every DJ-oriented night is different, and offers a chance to see and hear up and coming LA bands.
No happy hour specials;  everyday drink prices are the industry standards from $5.00 domestic beer, $6.00 import beer, $2.75 soda, alcohol starting from $5.00, and mixed drinks from $7.00. If you need to get your grub on, you can order from an extremely selective menu from a nearby pizza place and they will walk it over.
Depending on the band performing you might wait 2 hours to get in.
Dress code: hipster, casual.
